Given that this is the November issue, you may have thought I would have selected an artwork for the cover that was more seasonally appropriate. Yet, like the animals, we humans tend to treat the onset of winter as a period of hibernation. We sit comfortably indoors and reflect upon the events of years gone by. As we do so, we might think of warm summer days, perhaps ones from
childhood, splashing around in the pool.
Speaking of reflection, this issue also observes ideas of memory and how our expressions, such as our art, literary and poetic works, are fantastic tools through which we can explore our past experiences and cultures.
Though, that is not to say that this month’s issue will focus upon the past. Instead, this issue, like many of our previous editions, aims to prompt you to think, reflect and consider how our lives have been shaped by and continue to shape our planet.
Of course, I also haven’t forgot that spooky season
was at the end of October, so I have been sure to include a variety of Halloween works within this issue. Indeed, much like this time of year, when all the leaves have transformed into a variety of colours, so too does this issue include a plethora of mesmerising artworks, opinions, essays and poems for you to ponder over.
