A lot of creatives are often surrounded by artists growing up; indeed, it is often how they become inspired to become artists, writers or poets in the first place, but Louise here seems to take the biscuit.
‘I grew up in a family of artists and creatives’ she says. ‘My father was a commercial artist, what we’d calla graphic designer today, but it was so much more than that then. My mother painted, my uncle was an architect, my grandparents painted, my cousin was an illustrator, my sister a cake decorator and brother into graphics & photography’.
So, far from being discouraged to look at art as a career, such as Niamh we spoke to earlier who was redirected from a young age toward studying more traditional subjects at school, Louise felt she had no other option.
