Retrospective Vision: Ian Leaver-Blaxstone's 1940's-Style movie posters inspired by Mythology.

Quite like most creators, Ian's artistic Journey began with simple doodles in school. Decades later however, after gaining various artistic qualifications, playing in bands, travelling the world and becoming somewhat of a mythology aficionado, his artwork nowadays is far from the norm. By mixing together a variety of themes, from 1940s style film posters and 1980s B-Movie films, to monsters, myths, and legends; Ian casts reality aside as he reshapes and redefines our landscapes.

Moving from London as a child to Northampton, Ian continued to pursue his passion for art right throughout his teenage years until eventually he went to Northampton School of Arts College. Though, unsure exactly what art form he wished to pursue, Ian decided to instead follow another passion which he was quickly developing for bass guitar. Ian then spent years in a band living as a musician doing gigs both in the U.K and in Europe until eventually he decided to return to University to study graphic design in 2002. Once he graduated, Ian - unlike most graduates of today - then got a relevant job to his degree in reprography, which is essentially the reproduction of graphically designed things into print (such as our magazine for instance). Interestingly, such experience in both graphic design and reprography would lead Ian to produce the National Lottery's scratch cards for the London 2012 Olympics as well as numerous Christmas ones.
