The Unique Creations of Bethan Yates: A Modern Perspective on Contemporary Glass Art

Little recognition in the art world is given to glass workers, particularly when it comes to magazines. So, what better way to start this edition than by exploring the works of the incredibly promising, young, up-and-coming contemporary glass artist, Bethan Yates.

If you read our third edition, The Storytellers, then you might remember that we met Bethan in FLOW, a glass works exhibition which was hosted in Cardiff's Craft Studio.

She has also won a good deal of awards; one of the most prestigious of which was the Richard Seager Annual Arts Award, which resulted in her piece being installed at the London Coliseum, home to the English National Opera. Interestingly however, Bethan's art journey began not with glass but...

'Nearly everyone I know, who has gone into glass work had started off by doing something else in the arts' and she too is no exception here.
